The  International Baccalaureate Organization aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. In preparing to apply Primary Years Programme International Baccalaureate next school year, five primary teachers, Ibu Esti, Bapak Farid, Ibu Rina, Ibu Sinta, Ibu Ida, together with Ibu Nida and Ibu Warih gathered on 16 June 2012 to develop a “Transdisciplinary Programme of Inquiry”. The development was guided by Ibu Isti Handayani and Ibu Mimin Sri Wahyuni, IB regional workshop leaders. 

Programme of inquiry is a part of written curriculum, which consists of six units of inquiry for each level. Each unit will be developed as a unit plan used by teachers as guidance to teach inquiry through all subjects in the classroom. Beside that, on 6 June 2012, five primary teachers, Ibu Rina, Ibu Helda, Ibu Rici, Ibu Lian, Ibu Susi, and Ibu Warih had an opportunity to join a workshop of  “Projects for Young Learners” conducted by Sampoerna School of Education. The speaker was Ibu Intan Dewi Hartianti from the British Institute. Ibu Intan shared many kinds of classroom projects to teach English language for young learners (7-11 years old) and ensure language development of the students. (Warih)
